Internship Job Description

     This summer I will be working with Residential Life within the Student Housing Office at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  I was fortunate enough to obtain this internship through the Association of College and University Housing Officials (ACUHO-i).

My main job responsibilities fall within two areas:







Professional Staff and Living/Learning Community Staff Training   
Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Residence Life, 
the ACUHO‐I Intern will:  

1. Assist with coordinating the training for Living Learning Community Resident Advisors.  
2. Develop training packets for Living/Learning Community partners and Resident Advisors.  
3. Finalize and assist with the logistics and planning of Professional Staff training.  
4. Develop assessment plan for the Living Learning and Theme Communities for 
the upcoming academic year.  
5. Assist with projects for the Director of Resident Ministry.  
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director for 
Residence Life or Director of Residence Life.  



Student Staff Training and Summer Housing    
Under the supervision of an Assistant Director for Residence Life, 
the ACUHO‐I Intern will:  
  
1. Assist with the planning of Residence Life August training for the Resident 
Advisors, Program Assistants and  
Residence Hall Association Executive Board members.  
2. Assist with the planning of the Student Life August training for student leaders 
within the Departments of  
Residence Life, Campus Recreation, Student Leadership & Development and First Year Experience.  
3. Assist the Summer Resident Director with the arrival and departure 
processes for summer housing groups.  
4. Work with the Summer Resident Director with other summer housing projects
 and issues.  
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director for
 Residence Life or Director of Residence Life
